Webster defines reality as: “the totality of real things and events”.
The history and evolution of one’s brain, emotional status, environmental history, and many other factors are involved in what one sees as reality.
All of which plus where we are at the time determines what we choose to see and how we see it in the same way that light determines what we see and how it looks to us.
Scientist see physical. Artist see beauty. Farmers see nature. Philosophers see intelligence. And the list goes on.
And each one of them thinks that they see the “real” reality.
If we choose to see the totality of reality it is necessary to go beyond the one aspect of it with which we are conditioned or oriented and look at all aspects of what we see.
Probably the deepest, most pleasurable, and most rewarding experience of seeing reality is the aesthetics there of.
Reality is seeing beauty.
Beauty is seeing reality.
If you don’t experience the beauty in what you see then you are not seeing the totality thereof and missing a very important part of the experience.
Contrary to what is expressed by many, experiencing beauty is not a superfluous aspect of life but is a necessary aspect and part of living a healthy and balanced existence.
After all, how much of what we eat and how it is prepared and served is determined by how the food taste which is the beauty of eating?
