Trends?

Information from a national retail chain concerning upcoming trends came across my desk last week.

Several were of changes for residential indoor living that have become prominent because of life styles caused by the pandemic and have been featured in previous editions of this blog.

Insipid was the word that came to mind when reading the others.

A cottage core and minimalism designs were listed which are opposites in design and ambiance so how can such manifest the same desired result?

The use of paints and wallpapers really peaked my interest.

Such is a current trend? Where have those who made such predictions been as paints and wall coverings have been prominently exemplified for many time periods during the progress of civilizations including our current lives.

Such information exemplifies our need to filter what information is available on the internet.

These stated predictions come across more as public relations and advertising efforts of said retail chain to produce more customers and less about psychological and interior design changes based on scientific research.

To manifest the highest level of quality and intelligent interior design results, residential and others, always use the laws of physics, the principles of aesthetics, knowing the sources, and the sincerity of all tangible and non-tangible aspects involved.

Food for thought.
